TaylorMade Burner drivers are very forgiving, and that forgiveness comes at a very reasonable price. The shafts on these drivers are longer than normal and their clubhead shape provides a low, deep center of gravity and high moment of inertia. The result is greater height, distance and forgiveness on tee shots. The best way to sum up this family of drivers is "great performance and great value." The TaylorMade Burner family of drivers includes the Burner, Burner 460, Burner TP and Ladies Burner 460 models.
TaylorMade R9 Drivers
This very popular series of innovative TaylorMade drivers includes the R9, R9 TP, R9 460 and R9 460 TP. All four R9 models feature TaylorMade's Flight Control Technology (F.C.T.) and are user-customizable. Players with R9 drivers can alter the ball's flight path and trajectory by adjusting the golf club heads and a series of weights built into the heads. By making these adjustments, golfers can change the club's center of gravity, lie angle, face angle and loft. These drivers can also be adjusted to help you have a draw, a fade or a straight ball flight. The draw setting can even help you correct for a slice! The maximum ball flight control you have with these drivers means that the R9 series of drivers are almost perfect for any golfer. After all, with this many different driver adjustments it's almost as if you own 24 different drivers.
The shaft is the only difference between the R9 and the R9 TP TaylorMade drivers - the standard clubheads for both drivers are exactly the same. The R9 TP comes standard with a slightly stiffer, lower-torque graphite shaft.
The R9 460 and RP 460 TP also use the adjustable F.C.T. system, but they feature larger clubheads, longer shafts and a deeper center of gravity to launch higher, longer drives. They also have an increased draw bias and provide maximum forgiveness with off-center hits. Like the R9 and R9 TP models, the R9 460 and R9 460 TP have different stock shafts. A ladies' model R9 460 is also available.
